RGB_ Lake (Wesserunsett), 2006. Digital c-print. 12″ x 36″

RGB_Lake was a large (30’ x 36’) raft of 72 individual red, green, and blue air mattresses. Organized by the color patterning of RGB color diodes, the raft acted as an analogue television screen where people/static moved in motion with the natural forces of the lake environment. As the group navigated RGB_Lake across the lake they not only translated a normally scientific (electrical) process into an interactive tangible experience but, as opposed to being passive (television) viewers, cast themselves in an active role of collaborative creation.
